Abstract:
Aim: The aim of this research was determines effectiveness of training Gottfredson theory of circumscription and compromise (GTCC) on the burnout among the medical documents staff of the Social Security Organization in Tehran.
Methods: The research was semi-experimental conducted using pretest-posttest and a control group. The population under study consisted of all medical documents employees of the Social Security Organization in Tehran (n=420). Among those who answered the Maslach Burnout Questionnaire, 30 person were selected randomly and assigned in two groups (n=15). experimental group received training with Gottfredson’s theory of circumscription and compromise. One group was considered as control group. The experimental groups were trained in eight 90-minute sessions separately. The participants’ burnout levels were measured after the intervention.
Results: The collected data were analysed using covariance analysis . The results showed that GTCC is effective in reducing the frequency and intensity of emotional exhaustion, depersonalization, and in increasing the frequency and intensity of positive individual performance.
