Aim: The present study aimed to examine the psychometric properties of the Career Indecision Profile. Methods: This correlational psychometric study was conducted among students at the University of Isfahan during the 2025–2026 academic year. A sample of 307 students was selected using stratified sampling and randomly divided into two separate groups of 200 and 107 students, respectively, for exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses. The research instruments included the Career Indecision Profile (Xu & He, 2022), the Career Decision-Making Self-Efficacy Scale (Betz et al., 1996), and the Career Indecision Scale (Osipow et al., 1976). Results: The results of the exploratory factor analysis revealed a six-factor structure. Furthermore, confirmatory factor analysis supported a good fit for the first-order, six-factor model of the Career Indecision Profile. Significant correlations (p < .01) were observed between the dimensions of career indecision and scores on the Career Indecision Scale, providing evidence of convergent validity; meanwhile, significant correlations with career decision-making self-efficacy provided evidence of divergent validity. The results of the measurement invariance analysis indicated full measurement invariance across gender. Cronbach’s alpha coefficients for the six dimensions—Negative Affect, Commitment Anxiety, Need for Information, Lack of Readiness, Lack of Alignment, and Interpersonal Conflict—ranged from .50 to .91. Female students obtained higher mean scores than male students on the Negative Affect and Need for Information dimensions. Conclusion: Given the satisfactory psychometric properties of the Career Indecision Profile, its use is recommended in future research as well as in career counseling settings.
