Aim: The aim of this study is to investigate the effect of role overload on job plateau with the mediation of work-life conflict and the moderation of teachers' emotional stability.
Method: The method of the present study is applied. The statistical population of this research was 250 teachers of Shahin Shahr. The sample size was calculated with Morgan's table of 151 people and the questionnaire was distributed among them in a simple random manner. The criteria for entering people was employment in education and experience of at least 5 years. Data collection tool Data collection tool Five standard questionnaires of career plateau taken from Milliman (1993) with a reliability of 0.7, emotional stability taken from Goldberg (1999) with a reliability of 0.832, job burden taken from Spector and Jacks (1998) with a reliability of 0.733 and the interaction of life and work is taken from Net Meher (1996) with a reliability of (0.952) and all these questionnaires were confirmed to be reliable.
Results: The results showed that job plateau affects job burden at a 95% confidence level. Job plateau affects role burden by mediating work-life conflict, job plateau affects role burden by moderating emotional stability, and job plateau does not affect work-life conflict.
Conclusion: When stressors such as job burden are present, emotionally stable individuals may adopt a proactive and problem-solving approach, which leads to allocating more resources to the work domain but saving fewer resources in non-work domains. As a result, they tend to experience more work-life conflict.
