Effectiveness of Mindfulness-Based Therapy on Flow at Work and Personal Flourishing in Tehran Psychotherapists

Abstract

Abstract
This study was conducted with the aim of the effectiveness of mindfulness-based therapy on flow at work and personal flourishing in therapists in Tehran. The statistical population of the present study included all therapists in Tehran. Thirty therapists who met the inclusion criteria were selected by available sampling method and randomly assigned to experimental and control groups. The research instruments included a flow at work and personal flourishing questionnaire that was completed by both groups in three stages: pre-test-post-test and quarterly follow-up. The mindfulness training program was performed in 8 sessions of 90 minutes for the experimental group. Data were analyzed using repeated measures multivariate analysis of variance using SPSSV22 software. The results showed that mindfulness-based therapy has an effect on flow at work (F = 5.54 and P = 0.010) and personal flourishing (F = 4.65 and P = 0.018). This means that after receiving the mindfulness intervention, the experimental group received higher scores in flow at work and personal flourishing than the control group. Finally, based on the results of this study, it can be said that mindfulness-based therapy is effective on flow at work and personal flourishing of therapists and this training can be used to promote the fascination with the flow at work and personal flourishing of therapists and therefore therapists, counselors, psychologists And other specialists from this training can be helpful.
