Abstract
Aim: The study aimed to investigate the impact of the postmodern intervention of life and career design dialogues on the career consequences of imposter syndrome through the reconstruction of university students' narratives. Methods: The research method was a semi-experimental study with two experimental and control groups and three stages of pre-test, post-test and follow-up. The research population was postgraduate students with imposter syndrome at the [hidden for peer review]. Through initial screening using the online form of Clance Imposter Phenomenon Scale, 30 students who scored 41 or higher were selected through purposive sampling and randomly assigned to two experimental and control groups. Data were collected using the Perceived Employability Scale, Career Indecision Questionnaire and Career Satisfaction Scale. Participants in the experimental group received five individual sessions of life and career design dialogues intervention. To analyze the data, analysis of variance with repeated measures in SPSS version 26 software were used. Results: The results showed that the intervention of life and career design dialogues significantly increased perceived employability (η2 =0.50), reduced career indecision (η2 =0.44), and increased career satisfaction (η2 =0.22), and its effect was stable after three months (p<0.0001). Conclusion: The intervention of life and career design dialogues can be used as a new and effective intervention to manage the career consequences of imposter syndrome in graduate students.
