Abstract
The aim of the present study was to investigate the mediating role of career path goal distance and career path stress in relation to career path goal feedback and students' academic persistence. This research was of the correlational type in the form of structural equation modeling. The statistical population of this research included all fourth grade students of Isfahan high school in the academic year of 2015-2016. A sample of 450 students (50% boys and 50% girls) was selected from this population by stratified random sampling. In order to collect data, academic persistence scale, career path goal feedback scale, career path goal distance scale and Korean academic stress questionnaire were used. The results showed that the distance with the goal of the career path had a full mediating role in the relationship between the subscale of negative feedback about progress and academic persistence; But the other two subscales had an indirect effect on academic persistence. Career path stress had a full mediating role in the relationship between the subscale of negative feedback on progress and academic persistence; But two other subscales had an indirect effect on academic persistence; Also, the distance with the goal of the career path played a full mediating role in the relationship between the sub-scale of negative feedback on progress and the stress of the career path, and a partial mediating role in the relationship between the other two sub-scales. As a result, in order to strengthen the academic stability of fourth grade high school students, attention should be paid to the role of career path stress, distance from the career path goal, and career path goal feedback.
