Investigating Competencies Required by Business counselor

Abstract
Diverse challenges facing entrepreneurs make it necessary to education of entrepreneurship counselors with special capabilities and Competencies. To impacting substantially on the success of the businesses, their competencies and capabilities of Business owners should be promoted. This study conducted aimed to competencies required by entrepreneurship counselors. The method of this study is a mixed approach. The method of data gathering in the qualitative is expert interviews, and in the quantitative section is questionnaire. The target population of current study in the qualitative section included business consultants and thematic analysis is used to data analysis in the qualitative section of this study and to analyzing data in quantitative section. The result of this study reveal that the parameters included of “motivation, Energize and Promising”, “Secrecy and Maintain confidentiality”, “Coaching, Facilitation and Management discussion workshops”, “Alertness to opportunities”, “The ability to gain entrepreneur’s confidence”, “The ability to analyze issues”, “Expertise in an industry”, “Using networking tools to establish and maintain professional relationships”, “The ability to Preparing a business plan” and “Awareness of the latest trends and Changes in the business environment” are ten parameters that have the highest priority in the framework of competencies required by entrepreneurship counselors. At the end, some recommendations for the improvement of these competencies are proposed.
