One of the types of unattended counseling is IT-based or Internet-based online counseling. Online technologies along with Face-to-Face Counseling cover important services for providing assistances and career supports which both increase accessibility and support different types of counseling. The aim of the present study is to investigate the effectiveness of Online and Face-to-Face Counseling with the Paradigm of Guiding on career self-awareness development in students of University of Isfahan. The research population consists of all students of University of Isfahan. Since the study employs a pretest-posttest quasi-experimental design with the control group, 45 participants were randomly selected and divided into three online, Face-to-Face , and control groups. Then, different copies of the Career Self-Awareness Questionnaire (Kermani, 2011) were distributed among them in two online and Face-to-Face forms. After collecting the data in the pretest, posttest, and follow-up 1, and follow-up 2 stages, they were analyzed via SPSS software at two descriptive and inferential levels. The results indicated that online and Face-to-Face counseling types both have significant effects on students’ career self-awareness development. In addition, there were no significant difference between the online and Face-to-Face groups. With regard to the research findings, it can be concluded that online and Face-to-Face creer counseling types can be effective on students’ career self-awareness development relatively to the same extent. Thus online counseling can be used along with Face-to-Face counseling in Iran for using in career counseling services.
