Aim: The purpose of this study was to investigate ethical leadership relationships with responsibility and accountability with an emphasis on ethical atmosphere.
Method: The present research is applied in terms of purpose, and in terms of data collection, it is descriptive and correlational. The statistical population of this research included all staff members of Urmia University, that among them 217 person were selected by simple random sampling method as the research sample. A standard questionnaire was used to collect data. Data were analyzed using structural equation modeling.
Results: The results of statistical analysis showed that moral leadership has a direct and positive effect on social responsibility, individual responsiveness and ethical climate. Also, the ethical climate has a direct and positive effect on social responsibility and individual accountability. At the same time, ethical leadership by mediating moral atmosphere has an indirect and positive effect on social accountability and individual accountability.
Conclusion: According to the findings, it can be concluded that ethical leadership has the most relevance to the ethical atmosphere. Also, by confirming the role of mediator of ethical atmosphere, ethical leadership has an indirect, positive, and meaningful effect on individual accountability and social responsibility
