Abstract

Aim:The present study was conducted with the aim of designing the model of the emergence of the similar-to-me effect in the selection of government organizations with the interpretive structural modeling method.

Methods:This research is based on mixed qualitative and quantitative researches in inductive deductive philosophy and is practical in terms of purpose and survey in terms of descriptive method. The statistical population of the current research is experts including university professors in the field of organizational behavior management and human resource management,as well as senior managers of government organizations, whose sample members were selected by convenient method and based on the principle of theoretical sufficiency. The data collection instrument in the qualitative part is a semi-structured interview. Its validity and reliability were tested using theoretical validity and intra-coder and inter-coder reliability. Also, the data collection instrument in the quantitative part is a questionnaire whose validity and reliability were measured by content validity and retest reliability. In this research,in the qualitative part content analysis and coding method with Atlas.ti software were used to analyze the data. Also,in the quantitative analysis, structural equation modeling method was applied.

Results:The findings of this study include factors affecting formation of the phenomenon of similar-to-me effect and presenting its model.

Conclusion:The results of the research include the design of the model of the emergence of the similar-to-me effect, the similar-to-me effect in this research has been developed in four main levels and based on the platforms of formation, the causes of the similar-to-me effect, the dimensions of the similar-to-me effect and its consequences.
